Vacancy: Hospitality Coordinator

Job Title: Hospitality Coordinator, Kent County Agricultural Society

Reporting To: Events Team Leader

Basis: Full-time Salary: £25,000

Working Hours: 37.5

Evening and weekend work will also be required

Location: Detling, Maidstone

Principle Accountabilities

  • Liaise with sales and events team on upcoming conferences and events, function sheets and plans will be given to you by the team
  • Meet and greet customers/delegates and ensure they are looked after throughout the day
  • Provide site safety information, WiFi logins etc.
  • Serve drinks and refreshments to delegates in a professional and timely manner
  • Keep refreshment area clean, tidy and replenished throughout the day
  • Set up rooms/halls in advance of booking to the requested configuration, assisted by the facilities team as required
  • Be on call for the client throughout the day
  • Clean down after conference/event, ensuring that tables and chairs etc. are stored away correctly. This may be with the help of the facilities team. This also includes washing up and putting away of crockery and general cleaning duties
  • Lay out and clear away any pre-booked food as required
  • Cleaning and litter picking as required
  • Ordering and preparing food when required
  • Managing stock control, administration and deliveries
  • When not engaged with customer service for events/conferences etc. work with the events team on other duties as required
  • Be the Hospitality Lead when customers are in, this will include delegation of hospitality staff and contractors on the day

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Deputy General Manager and Show Secretary from time to time.


Essential Experience:

  • Experience in a hospitality role
  • Experience managing a team
  • A full driving licence, willingness to travel and able to work evenings and weekends when required

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience and knowledge in the events and conference sector
  • Experience of catering and hospitality

  • High level of self confidence
  • Effective time management

Additional to add:

  • Flexibility with shifts and working hours is essential for this role
  • Ability to contribute towards a team environment but have the confidence to work on your own
  • You must be adaptable to work in a very busy events and conference environment
