The Kent Event Centre is ideally suited for arrival by car. It is located on the A249 which is a busy dual carriageway. From the M20 Motorway. Exit the motorway art junction (7) and follow signs to Sittingbourne and Sheerness A249. The Kent Showground is clearly marked and is approximately 2 miles from the Junction. From the M2 Motorway. Exit the motorway at junction (5) signposted Maidstone A249. The Kent Showground is approximately 5 miles.

By Bus - Arriva route 333 www.arrivabus.co.uk Tel:01622 690 577 There is a number 333 bus service to the Showground during this year's Kent County Show. The bus can be caught at the Chequers Bus Station stop H3 in Maidstone town centre. Download the service timetable below.

By Rail - The nearest train station is Maidstone East. View the Timetable to the left or for more rail enquiries telephone: 08457 48 49 50. The Channel Tunnel is within a 40 minute drive (35 miles). Ashford International is a 20 minute drive (20 miles).

By Air - Gatwick Airport is just 41 miles and a 45 minute drive away.

Car Parking

The Kent Event Centre has parking for up to 30,000 vehicles. For events within the Showground site there hard standing around all the exhibition halls with plenty of overflow parking within easy walking distance. For public outdoor events organisers can choose car parking to correspond with the public entrances they require. The Kent Showground has six entrances with forward disabled parking at the largest two entrances.

Accessibility

The concrete road infrastructure throughout the Showground means that visitors are able to access all areas of the Showground as well as ramp access to the exhibition halls. The meeting rooms in the Clive Emson Conference centre can be accessed via a lift to the mezzanine first floor.

There are disabled toilet and baby change facilities in several locations either adjacent to or within the exhibition halls and meeting rooms.

There is a hearing loop installed in the Detling Room.

Are there any camping and caravan sites on the Showground?

Yes, there are both caravan and camping facilities adjacent to the Showground. The website address is www.scraggedoak.co.uk

Where is the nearest railway station/bus station?

Maidstone East Railway Station. There is a taxi rank at the Station. The Arriva service’s 333 also runs at hourly intervals from the Bus Station in Maidstone past the Showground for details the timetable can be found in ‘How to get here”.

Where is the Showground exactly?

On the A249 at the top of Detling Hill between junction 7 of the M20 and junction 5 of the M2.

Can I use my own caterer?

The Kent Event Centre has a number of catering areas that may be used by your own caterer the facilities will be included as an extra in the cost of the booking. If you need help with catering, the Kent Event Centre Team have a number of excellent caterers that they would be happy to recommend.

How long will I have to set up my event?

This will vary depending on the type and size of your event. We are able to discuss the set-up and breakdown time that would be appropriate to ensure a successful event.

What Health & Safety documentation will I need?

The Event Team has extensive Health & Safety training and will be happy to help advise on all your H & S and legal requirements.

Can you provide everything I need for my event?

The Kent Event Centre will be able to provide everything for your event from table decorations to lighting towers. No request is too big or small and the team have experience in locating specialist items for every eventuality.

Do you have audio-visual equipment?

We have full AV equipment in a number of our meeting facilities and conference halls. Depending on your requirements we have a number of suppliers that are familiar with the Event Centre and are able to provide equipment to all specifications.

How much will it cost?

The cost depends of the date of event, length you require the facilities and whether you are a charity or a business within the Agricultural Sector. The Kent Event Centre is very competitively priced and a quotation can be sent to you. Hiring a single room or a combination of the facilities available on the site are not as expensive as you may think. Prices for facilities start at £25 per hour with bespoke packages and full delegate rates available on request.
